In June I am going to start training in Zanesville full-time (no more driving to New Albany!) so I would like to start a discussion about the kind of training people would like to see in Zanesville.
One topic that keeps coming up in other discussions is agility training for youths, focusing mostly on proper body mechanics. TGS already does a good job teaching sprint technique with their summer track series but outside of that I am not aware of much youth skill training for speed/agility/power.
This Saturday am starting up Power, Speed, and Strength training for adults. The training is built around sleds, bands, heavy ropes, tires, sledge hammers, etc. Basically it is similar to what I do for athletes but adapted for the weekend warrior. I have had minor interest in this training but I would love to hear other ideas on it.
Regular endurance sports training is something I have had people ask about too. I do offer online training but people would like to meet and run/bike too, the problem is that everyone that has asked me about it lives in Columbus so I don't know if there is the same level of interest here in town.
That is just a quick rundown of what I have already heard. If anyone has any other thoughts/ideas please post them. Ohio, unfortunately, is one of the fattest states so the more fitness options that are out there the more likely it is that someone will find something they will like.
